2005 Russia ..300th anniversary of Sea Infantry of Russia.

Peter the Great started the history of the Russian Marines in 1968 by setting up a detachment from the “Orjol” ship crew. An order to form the first detachment of Marines was issued after the battle with Swedes on the 27th of November, 1705. This date is considered to be the birth of the regular Russian Marines. And the time of their participation in triumphant battles in the 18th and the middle of the 19th century is considered to be the first stage of their formation.
